As a NorcomCT Inside Sales Representative, working with Municipal and Public Safety clientele, you will be an integral part of our core mission to provide technology solutions that help first responders, towns, and cities support and protect their communities. Your role will be to provide Motorola solutions and equipment to these critical agencies that protect life and property. Motorola is the world leader in public safety communications and NorcomCT is the premier Motorola partner in New England.

You will be a part of a top performing sales and customer support team that is responsible for creating an exceptional client experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This position is responsible for responding to client sales and support inquiries, understanding and interpreting technical requirements, soliciting and processing orders, creating quotations and developing accounts. Interaction with clients will primarily be via email and phone, however some onsite client meetings will be required.

The position is staffed at our Naugatuck location, Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, and may require occasional travel to area trade shows and training.

Compensation
$43,000 - $65,000 Annually (plus profit sharing, bonuses and incentives)
Initial compensation is paid hourly and is based on applicant’s skills, experience, training/education, and certifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain productive relationships with existing clients
  • Directly support, manage and develop accounts assigned to you
  • Prepare equipment lists, quotations, proposals and other sales documents and enter orders into an order processing system
  • Provide general customer service support including answering inbound calls, creating support cases and other customer service duties
  • Prospect potential new clients to initiate sales leads
  • Provide support and assistance to primary sales representative assigned to key accounts including quoting and processing orders for add-on sales and processing orders quoted by primary representative
  • Communicate status of leads, sales plan progress and competitive activity, including accurate and timely forecasting to the Director of Sales
  • Coordinate, prepare and conduct product and solution demonstrations
  • Understand clients’ business practices and provide solutions to increase organizational efficiency, improve personnel safety, reduce liabilities and enhance communication
  • Understand and interpret technical concepts and documents related to our industry, clients and vendors
  • Occasionally attend trade shows, events and conferences
  • Attend area and national trainings and maintain industry certifications
  • Perform other duties as may be required
Required Qualifications:
  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a customer service or inside sales position
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with responsive and timely follow-up skills
  • Positive and team oriented attitude is essential
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Proficiency with creation, development and formatting of documents and spreadsheets utilizing Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds
  • Pass initial and ongoing company and client background checks
  • Maintain valid state driver’s license with a good driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of local government budget cycles and procurement processes
  • Sales experience with technology solutions into industrial or government organizations
  • Experience prospecting and closing sales utilizing both consultative and relationship based sales skills
  • Experience as a first responder
  • Experience with the use of two-way radio communications systems or equipment
 
In addition to these requirements, we desire individuals who are team-oriented and who work and communicate effectively with others at all levels throughout the organization.  Excellent customer service skills with the desire to provide world-class support are a must.
